New Old Stock Hanau Medical Floor Lamp in Pastel Blue – Germany, 1950s/60s
Original vintage medical floor lamp by Hanau, Germany, dating from the 1950s–1960s.
This exceptional example was found unused in its original packaging and can therefore be considered New Old Stock. The lamp retains an unusually fresh appearance, with the original pastel light blue finish, chrome fittings, black details and textured glass lens all beautifully preserved.
Originally produced for medical and therapeutic use, the lamp features a flexible gooseneck that allows the head to be positioned in different directions. The textured front glass produces a warm yellow light, giving the lamp a distinctive and atmospheric glow.
Its domed base, slender upright and technical lamp head create a strong medical-industrial look, while the soft pastel colour and rounded forms are unmistakably mid-century.

This particular example is especially interesting because it was found unused in its original packaging. It can therefore be described as New Old Stock, which is increasingly difficult to find with vintage medical and industrial lighting from this period.
The lamp is finished in a characteristic pastel light blue with chrome fittings and contrasting black details. Its rounded domed base, slim upright and sculptural lamp head give it a strong mid-century appearance, while the flexible metal gooseneck allows the head to be positioned and directed as required.
The front of the lamp is fitted with textured glass, which diffuses the light into a warm yellow glow. Originally intended for medical or therapeutic use, the lamp now works particularly well as a decorative floor lamp, statement light or collectible design object.
Despite its age, the lamp remains in exceptionally fresh condition due to having been stored unused in its original packaging. The original surfaces, fittings and period details have been preserved, making this a particularly attractive example for collectors of vintage lighting, German industrial design and medical equipment.
