This striking 1970s coffee table features a sculptural stacked tubular chrome base combined with a large rectangular glass top. The geometric construction, with several chrome frames layered concentrically on top of one another, gives the table a strong architectural and Space Age character.
The design is attributed to Paul Mayén, whose work is closely associated with refined chrome and glass furniture from the 1960s and 1970s. The distinctive rounded tube ends, polished chrome finish and low proportions make this a particularly decorative statement piece.
The chrome has been carefully polished and presents very well. As expected from a genuine vintage piece of this age, there are some light surface scratches and a few very small oxidation spots visible on close inspection. These do not detract from the overall appearance and there is no serious structural damage. The glass top is believed to be a later replacement, but it fits the proportions of the frame very well.
