Information

This refined Belgian mid-century coffee table dates from the 1950s and features a warm wooden top combined with a sculptural black frame. The softly rounded corners, tapered legs and flowing construction give the table a distinctive modernist character associated with Belgian post-war design.

The design shows strong similarities to furniture created by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform, particularly in the use of contrasting light wood and black-finished supports, as well as the elegant curved transition between frame and legs. As no original label or catalogue reference has been found, the table is offered in the style of Alfred Hendrickx / attributed to the Belgian modernist school of the period.

The table has been carefully restored while preserving its original appearance and vintage character. The wooden surface retains its natural grain and warm tone, while the dark frame creates a strong architectural contrast.

With its relatively high profile for a coffee table, it works equally well as a low living-room table, side table or statement piece in a mid-century interior.
