Information

A striking vintage Desso round high-pile rug from the 1970s, featuring a bold abstract design typical of the period.

The rug combines a soft neutral background with overlapping organic shapes in warm shades of orange, ochre, rust brown, dark brown and pale yellow-green. The different forms flow into one another, creating the distinctive graphic look associated with 1970s interiors.

Its deep high-pile texture gives the rug a particularly warm and tactile appearance. Combined with the unusual round shape and strong colour palette, it works equally well as a functional floor rug or as a decorative statement piece.

Desso was a well-known Dutch manufacturer and produced a wide variety of distinctive carpets and rugs during the mid-to-late 20th century. Designs from this period are increasingly appreciated for their characteristic colours, textures and bold geometric or organic patterns.

A great addition to a 1970s, Mid-Century Modern, retro, Space Age or eclectic interior, and particularly attractive combined with teak, chrome, smoked glass or other vintage furniture.

The rug is in good vintage condition, with signs of age and use consistent with its period. Please refer to the photographs for a detailed impression of the condition.
