Information
Designed and manufactured by Raak Amsterdam in the Netherlands during the 1970s, the B-1011 is a striking example of Dutch mid-century modern lighting. Characterised by its octagonal architectural form, the pendant combines lacquered aluminium with acrylic (Perspex/Lucite) diffuser panels, creating a refined interplay of direct and ambient illumination.
The lamp features a three-light configuration, with one downward-facing light and two upward-facing light sources. When illuminated, the translucent acrylic inserts softly disperse the light, producing a warm glow that accentuates the geometric silhouette while creating a welcoming atmosphere. This sophisticated lighting effect makes the B-1011 equally suitable above a dining table, in a living room, entrance hall, or commercial interior with generous ceiling height.
This example retains its original Raak Amsterdam manufacturer’s label, confirming its authenticity. The clean lines, durable aluminium construction and sculptural presence have made the B-1011 one of Raak's most recognisable architectural pendant designs from the 1970s.
