Information
This set of four cantilever dining chairs was designed by Gastone Rinaldi and produced in Italy in the 1970s. The chairs feature a sculptural tubular steel frame with a white lacquered finish and a refined vertical wire structure forming both seat and backrest.
All four chairs remain in original condition. The lacquer is factory original and has not been repainted. The original floor glides are still present. The frames are structurally sound, stable, and free from deformation. No visible corrosion. No weld repairs. No touch ups.
The white finish shows only minimal signs of age consistent with careful storage rather than daily use. The wire construction remains perfectly aligned. The cantilever bases retain their tension and sit level on the floor.
Design characteristics:
-
Classic Italian 1970s modernism
-
Continuous tubular steel cantilever base
-
Open wire seat for light visual presence
-
Architectural silhouette with strong horizontal and vertical lines
These chairs work well in contemporary interiors, minimalist dining rooms, gallery spaces, or architectural homes. The open structure allows light to pass through, making them ideal for smaller rooms where heavy seating would dominate the space.
