Titled “Dante and Virgil”, this piece depicts Dante guided by the Roman poet Virgil on their spiritual journey through the afterlife. Rendered in expressive washes of blue and warm orange, the figures embody both the poetic and the surreal qualities that define Dalí’s interpretation of Dante’s masterpiece.
